Meet GarinI always knew I wanted to fly. And as a kid, I can remember looking at books of fighter jets for hours dreaming of what it must be like.  After I graduated from high school, I attended Metropolitan State College of Denver to study Aviation. I obtained my Private rating in airplanes and soon after got bored with it- I always knew I wanted to fly helicopters. I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Technology and transitioned over to helicopters.

In March of 2007 I took a discovery flight on Oahu in an R-22 with the doors off and immediately thought "yes, I have to do this!" After working two jobs and flight training, I completed my Commercial and CFI in both the S-300C and the R44. I have returned from an amazing experience in California where I was a co-pilot on a Bell 214B-1 working with a Heli-Tack rappel crew and fighting forest fires. I have experience in Schweizer 300C’s, R44’s, EC-120’s, Bell 214B-1, Cessna 400, Pilatus PC-12, and the Cessna 172. I am fortunate enough to say that all of my time has been at high altitude.

I look forward to sharing my experiences in the real world with the students at Colorado Heli-Ops, so that they may go onto succeed in this industry.

As a cancer survivor I can tell you that anything is possible if you really want it. Nothing can hold you back from your dreams. My advice is just go for it- you never know until you try!
