I was born and raised in Pueblo Colorado. In 1998 I started a career in a metal foundry where I worked as a utility lead man for eight years were the repetitiveness was a daily routine. Then in December of 2005 I was introduced to a world of helicopters where I took my first helicopter ride, knowing right then and there this was the path for me. So in January of 2006 I pursued flight training in Colorado. I received my CFII rating in July of 2007 while working a full time job, married to my beautiful wife Maria, and raising 3 awesome children. My daughter Alyssa is all girl and a cheerleader at her middle school. My boy’s Cody and Kyle are all boys are involved in sports year round. Looking back on this journey there’s nothing that I would change; this has been one of the best experiences of my life.
There’s not one day that is the same, its different situations and different circumstances every flight. To have a career where your office is 500 feet in the air and in the front seat to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world it’s beyond words to explain. When in the helicopter you get that since of freedom and after 1400 plus hours I still stop and say to myself “I can’t believe there paying me to do this”. So to share this passion with the students and staff of Heli-Ops is an honor.
