Colorado Heli-Ops’ Career Pilot Program will introduce you to helicopters and guide you to being qualified as an industry ready employable pilot.
This program involves training to obtain the Private, Instrument, Commercial, Instructor, and Instructor-Instruments certificates.
While working through these ratings you will train in the FAA Industry Training Standards Scenario Based Training syllabi, which have been designed using modern and advanced instruction techniques to create the safest pilots. In addition to building strong flying techniques, pilots-in-training at Colorado Heli-Ops also develop strong risk management and aeronautical decision making skills through exposure to real commercial operations and training and living in a Just Culture, industry best practices Safety Management System.
To supplement the traditional aviation knowledge base, Heli-Ops also partners with industry leading experts to offer courses in 135 operations, Scenario Based Training facilitation, and advanced flight and Single Pilot Resource Management techniques. Pilots who complete the program finish as well-rounded pilots with knowledge, flying & head working skills that stand out to employers.
When finished with the program, pilots usually have about 200 hours of flight time in helicopters. The cost for the career program usually ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, depending on the following factors: the helicopter type in which you choose to train, your commitment to complete the training as efficiently as possible, and the amount of home study you do of classroom material.
