Certified Flight Instructor - CFI
Â
Most professional pilots have gained valuable experience during their time as instructors; and in this industry, it is one of the most common ways for relatively low-time pilots to build hours toward their careers. Some CFI's enjoy the job so much that they make a career out of teaching.
An applicant for a CFI - Helicopter rating must be a commercial helicopter pilot. No instrument rating is required.

PLEASE NOTE:
Our prices are subject to change without prior notice. The CFI course is structured and based on the average number of hours a typical student might finish the course since there are no minimum requirements for the CFI rating. It is not guaranteed you will complete the training in the average number of hours.
Again, there are no minimum hours required by the FAA for the CFI. Above are the average hours a typical student may need to finish the course.
The above rating can also be obtained in the R-44 at $440 an hour plus dual Instruction. If you have a fixed wing certificate already, you can obtain this rating as a category Add-On. Each rating for an Add-On will be at a reduced cost because the hour requirements are less than initial ratings.

Certified Flight Instructor - CFII
Â
The CFII Course will give you practical experience teaching ground and flight lessons relating specifically to the IFR environment. Upon completion of this you will be able to teach students how to fly in simulated Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) and sign them off to take the practical test for their Instrument Rating.
Airplane Pilots are eligible to add Rotorcraft ratings to their existing certificates. They are not required to take an additional knowledge test for the rating they want to obtain. The add-on rating costs less than an initial rating due to a reduction in the minimum total flight hours and ground school preparation. Pricing for the Add-On will vary from pilot to pilot due to skill level and time commitment but for a general idea as to the cost, we offer you the following:
