AVIATION FUTURES
a Career Path Program
Aviation Futures, a non-profit partner organization of Colorado Heli-Ops, has established a career path program to help pilots to obtain jobs and progress in the helicopter industry. Commercial operators in Air Ambulance, Air Tours, Fire/Utility, and Agriculture have all partnered in the program to provide guaranteed interviews and priority hiring to selected graduates of Colorado Heli-Ops’ courses. These industry partnerships mean excellent job placement rates and eliminating the uncertainty when entering the helicopter job market.

Colorado Heli-Ops has been an expert and innovating force in providing Scenario Based Training with an emphasis on risk management for over 10 years. The incredible fun and versatility of helicopters means pilots have a lot of freedom in the air. Pilots in the cockpit must be adept at evaluating and assessing risks to ensure the safe outcome of each operation. When training at Colorado Heli-Ops, you will be immersed in a safety culture that teaches you not only to fly the aircraft precisely, but to be the most effective “Pilot in Command” and decision maker – qualified to handle all the exciting variables that a commercial or private pilot is faced with on a daily basis. Colorado Heli-Ops is proud of our Safety Management System (SMS) – an integral part of our operations that helps to reduce accidents and incidents. Your participation in our SMS will help in your career, as most large operators in the industry have an SMS.
Colorado is one of the most beautiful places on earth. The mountains and high altitude create not only a pretty landscape, but a better environment for pilots to learn about helicopter performance. During your piloting career, you will face conditions that test your aircraft capabilities and pilot skill. Training at high altitude helps pilots to gain regular experience in this type of operation – better preparing them for future challenges.
Colorado Heli-Ops was founded to help address issues seen in the helicopter industry and at other flight schools. Students were taken advantage of financially and provided with inadequate training. At Colorado Heli-Ops, you will find a company and staff that genuinely cares about your safety and well-being. Our medium-sized school offers flexibility for people with different commitments and one-on-one training that moves at your pace.
Colorado Heli-Ops has an Elite TH22 Advanced Aviation Training Device which is FAA approved for instruction toward certificates and ratings. This next generation simulator has realistic visuals with terrain, roads, and buildings. We use the TH22 for training emergency procedures, inadvertent encounters with poor weather, basic and advanced maneuvers training, and instrument training. This improves the quality of training at a lower cost than the aircraft.
Our Chief Instructor is also a Designated Pilot Examiner. This means lower wait times for practical tests, and the opportunity to know and be comfortable with your examiner before the test.
